Design & Pre-Construction Project Coordinator (Freelance, Remote)

About the role

A US-based architecture and engineering program management firm, which specializes in structural engineering and turnkey design and management of pre-engineered, prefab and modular buildings, is growing its design and pre-construction work. It needs a dedicated coordinator to keep projects moving between owners, architects, engineers and design teams. This is a fully remote, freelance position paid $7 per hour, with no benefits package.

Key responsibilities

• Lead regular Owner-Architect-Contractor meetings, prepare agendas, take minutes and track action items to completion
• Review architectural, structural and trade drawings and deliverables, flagging conflicts and gaps; mark up drawings in Bluebeam and track revisions
• Manage project timelines and deliverables independently, monitor milestones and raise risks and delays early with proposed solutions
• Serve as the main communication link between clients and design teams, relaying decisions, questions and feedback
• Maintain project trackers, logs and records, and keep drawing sets and correspondence organized

Required profile

• 1+ year of experience in construction project engineering, assistant project management, design coordination or a similar role
• Experience coordinating architects, engineers and contractors, and managing project schedules and deliverables
• Proven ability to handle client and consultant communications independently
• Confident, professional written and verbal English, able to lead live meetings with US clients
• Comfortable working a US Pacific Time schedule
• Own computer, headset with noise-cancelling mic, webcam, backup internet and a quiet workspace at home

Required skills

• Bluebeam for drawing review and markup
• Reading and reviewing architectural, structural and trade drawings
• Familiarity with project management tools such as Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud or Smartsheet
• Knowledge of project schedules, RFIs, submittals and deliverable tracking
