Design Engineer – Heavy Industry Equipment

About the role

MicroSourcing is seeking a Design Engineer to create and optimise heavy-industry and agricultural equipment. The role involves turning concepts into detailed 3D models, performing engineering analysis, and collaborating with R&D, manufacturing and quality teams.

Key responsibilities

• Conceptualise and develop robust equipment designs for heavy-industry and agricultural applications.
• Create 3D models, assembly drawings and technical documentation using CAD tools.
• Perform detailed engineering calculations, structural and material analysis to ensure compliance with ASME, ISO and ANSI standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, manufacturing, quality assurance) to integrate designs into production.
• Conduct prototype testing, analyse results and implement design improvements.
• Stay current with industry trends, technologies and best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in design of agricultural or heavy-industry equipment.
• Proven ability to develop concepts, optimise designs and deliver detailed engineering documentation.
• Strong understanding of mechanical principles, material selection, structural analysis and manufacturing processes.
• Familiarity with relevant industry standards (ASME, ISO, ANSI).
