Database Administrator (MySQL & PostgreSQL)

About the role

The Database Administrator will ensure the stability, security and performance of eTap’s MySQL and PostgreSQL environments while supporting the growing Data Lake and ETL/ELT pipelines that power the company’s analytics and reporting needs.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and maintain MySQL and PostgreSQL databases, including monitoring, tuning and optimization.
• Troubleshoot database issues and guarantee high‑availability of all systems.
• Plan and execute database upgrades, migrations and routine maintenance.
• Design, implement and maintain ETL/ELT workflows, ensuring timely and accurate data movement.
• Resolve pipeline failures and handle both structured and unstructured data across multiple platforms.
• Maintain Data Lake structure, storage organization and optimization, supporting partitioning strategies and formats such as Parquet and Avro.
• Proactively monitor performance, identify bottlenecks and apply improvements.
• Manage access controls, encryption, audit monitoring and compliance with data‑governance standards.
• Execute backup and recovery procedures and participate in disaster‑recovery planning and testing.

Required profile

• Proven experience administering MySQL and PostgreSQL databases.
• Familiarity with ETL/ELT processes and data‑pipeline orchestration.
• Understanding of Data Lake concepts, partitioning and columnar file formats (Parquet, Avro).
• Knowledge of security best practices, encryption and audit logging.
• Experience with backup strategies and disaster‑recovery planning.
