Database Administrator

About the role

The Database Administrator will ensure the stability, security, and performance of eTap Inc.'s MySQL and PostgreSQL environments while supporting the growing Data Lake and ETL/ELT pipelines that power the company's fintech services.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and maintain MySQL and PostgreSQL databases, including monitoring, tuning, and optimization.
• Troubleshoot database issues to guarantee high availability and reliability.
• Support database upgrades, migrations, and routine maintenance activities.
• Design, implement, and maintain ETL/ELT workflows, ensuring accurate data movement between systems and the Data Lake.
• Maintain Data Lake structure, storage organization, and optimization using formats such as Parquet and Avro.
• Proactively monitor performance of databases and pipelines, identifying and resolving bottlenecks.
• Manage access controls, encryption, and audit monitoring to meet security and compliance standards.
• Execute backup and disaster recovery procedures, and participate in recovery testing.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of MySQL and PostgreSQL database administration.
• Experience with ETL/ELT processes and Data Lake concepts.
• Familiarity with performance tuning, backup strategies, and disaster recovery planning.
• Understanding of security best practices, encryption, and compliance requirements.
