Data Analyst – Payments

About the role

Join Salmon’s fast‑growing Payments domain, where you will own analytics that keep debit, credit and cross‑border payment delivery stable and data‑driven. You will work on mobile and transaction‑feed analytics, partner with product and engineering, and support new initiatives such as the Daily Banking launch.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with product and engineering to define and validate tracking requirements for the mobile app and transaction feed.
• Own end‑to‑end mobile analytics, including requirements gathering, monitoring, funnel and drop‑off analysis, research and documentation.
• Manage transaction‑feed analytics, covering merchant naming standardisation, transaction categorisation and icon‑mapping logic.
• Build and maintain dashboards, reports and self‑serve analytics for Payments products across debit, credit and cross‑border.
• Monitor key payment metrics, identify trends, gaps and opportunities, and support forecasting and financial reporting for credit products and bill‑payment streams.
• Deliver clear stakeholder presentations that turn analysis into actionable decisions.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience in data analytics, preferably in fintech or payments.
• Hands‑on experience with product analytics tools such as Amplitude, Mixpanel, Firebase Analytics or GA4.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with BI and data‑visualisation tools (Tableau, Looker, Metabase or similar).
• Familiarity with transaction data, payment flows, categorisation, reconciliation and data‑quality issues.
• Ability to translate business questions into analytical frameworks and actionable insights.
• Experience with forecasting, financial reporting and working in a high‑growth product environment.
