Dairy Finance and Accounting Head

About the role

The Dairy Finance and Accounting Head leads the finance and accounting function for a dairy business, providing strategic financial insight to support decision‑making, operational efficiency and sustainable growth. This senior position partners closely with operations and commercial teams to drive performance and cost optimisation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead finance and accounting operations, including reporting, budgeting, forecasting and general ledger management.
• Prepare timely and accurate financial statements, management reports and regulatory submissions.
• Drive financial planning and analysis, variance analysis and performance monitoring.
• Partner with operations and commercial teams to provide financial insights for strategic decisions.
• Oversee cost management, inventory valuation and cost optimisation across dairy operations.
• Maintain strong internal controls, accounting policies and regulatory compliance.
• Lead audit activities and coordinate with external auditors and government agencies.
• Manage cash flow, working capital and financial resources to support growth.
• Develop and monitor financial KPIs, supporting capital investments and strategic initiatives.
• Lead, mentor and develop the Finance and Accounting team.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, Economics or related field.
• 8–10 years progressive finance and accounting experience, including 3–5 years in a managerial or leadership role.
• Experience in manufacturing, dairy or FMCG is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, taxation, internal controls and financial analysis.
• Proven leadership, analytical and stakeholder management abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Office applications.
