Cyber Security Specialist

About the role

TrueNAS is seeking a Cyber Security Specialist to own the security of its systems, data, and people. This in‑office position in Makati will lead security operations, drive program improvements, and work closely with IT and network teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day security operations, including endpoint monitoring, email security, patch compliance and vulnerability scanning.
• Conduct user access reviews, enforce MFA, least‑privilege access and password policies.
• Design, implement and enforce security policies aligned to ISO 27001 and CMMC standards.
• Establish AI security governance, reviewing AI tool usage and data sharing.
• Own patch management for servers and VMs, coordinate maintenance windows and verify compliance.
• Lead internal and external audits, compliance assessments and track corrective actions.
• Serve as security SME on IT projects, reviewing firewall rules, VPN, network segmentation and secure configurations.
• Run security awareness activities, including phishing simulations and onboarding briefings.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.
• At least 5 years of IT experience with 4 years in a dedicated security role.
• Proven experience leading incident response from investigation to recovery.
• Experience with vulnerability management, access reviews and security awareness programs.
• Background in ISO 27001, SOC 2 or data‑privacy compliance work.
