Cyber Security Operations Analyst

About the role

The Cyber Security Operations Analyst will join the Security Operations Center (SOC) of Melco to monitor, detect, and respond to security events across the organization. This role is responsible for the day‑to‑day execution of SOC processes, ensuring timely investigation and escalation of incidents.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, categorize, prioritize, and investigate security events using SOC log sources such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, web proxies, and antivirus systems.
• Monitor SIEM tool queues, perform initial triage, and document findings.
• Maintain shift logs, ticketing records, and SOC email distribution lists.
• Update collaboration tools with process changes and daily intelligence reports.
• Conduct security research on emerging threats and provide backup coverage for continuity.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years of IT experience, preferably in security operations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
• Strong understanding of network protocols, incident response phases, and malware eradication.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Required skills

• TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, FTP, NetBIOS protocols.
• Network analysis, flow analysis, and network sniffing tools.
• Log analysis tools (e.g., Log Logic, Splunk).
• Operating systems: Linux, UNIX, Windows.
• Security Event Information Management (SIEM) platforms.
• Firewalls, web proxies, IDS/IPS, and antivirus systems.
