Customer Sales and Service Associate – Banking Operations

About the role

The Customer Sales and Service Associate (CSSA) works in a bank branch to handle a wide range of financial and non‑financial transactions for customers. The role combines front‑line service, accurate transaction processing, and proactive sales of bank products while ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Process over‑the‑counter transactions such as cash and check deposits, withdrawals, bill payments, fund transfers and auxiliary services including foreign exchange, remittances and debit‑card requests.
• Open new accounts, conduct KYC verification, scan and file all required documentation, and update customer records as needed.
• Maintain cash limits, perform end‑of‑day balancing, and act as secondary custodian for cash and accountable items.
• Ensure compliance with risk‑management and control procedures, including enhanced due diligence for high‑risk transactions.
• Provide accurate information on bank products, cross‑sell services, and respond to customer inquiries with a focus on service quality.
• Prepare routine correspondence, manage outgoing mail, process branch expenses, and keep the workstation and branch premises orderly.

Required profile

• Ability to handle cash and perform accurate transaction processing.
• Familiarity with KYC, AML and other regulatory requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow bank policies and procedures.
• Good communication skills for explaining terms and conditions to customers.
