Controller – Accounting Operations, Inventory & Controls

About the role

The Controller – Accounting Operations, Inventory and Controls will ensure the reliability of the company’s core accounting processes, sub‑ledgers, reconciliations and transactional accounting. This hands‑on position requires direct work in the accounting records, investigation of discrepancies and the establishment of repeatable, well‑controlled procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain assigned general‑ledger accounts, supporting schedules and ensure sub‑ledger reconciliation each reporting period.
• Prepare and review account reconciliations, investigate reconciling items, stale balances and classification errors.
• Create routine and non‑routine journal entries with full supporting documentation, ensuring correct legal entity, account, department, location and period.
• Oversee accounts payable accounting, including vendor invoices, credits, payments, accruals and statement reconciliations.
• Manage accounts receivable processes such as billing support, cash application, deductions, credits and aging analysis.
• Supervise payroll accounting, reconciling payroll registers, tax liabilities and benefit deductions.
• Own inventory and cost accounting processes, reconcile inventory sub‑ledgers, investigate quantity and valuation discrepancies, and support physical counts.
• Support monthly, quarterly and annual close activities in partnership with the Lead Controller.

Required profile

• Willingness to work directly in accounting records and investigate discrepancies.
• Ability to correct process failures and develop repeatable, well‑controlled procedures.
• Hands‑on approach rather than a purely supervisory role.
