Construction Safety Officer

About the role

The Safety Officer will lead the implementation and monitoring of health and safety programs on a construction site, ensuring compliance with DOLE occupational safety and health requirements, company policies, and project standards. The role promotes a safe working environment for all employees and subcontractors.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and monitor the project’s Health and Safety Program and site safety procedures.
• Conduct regular site safety inspections, identify hazards, and enforce proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Deliver safety orientations, toolbox meetings, and briefings.
• Prepare safety reports, inspection checklists, and incident/accident documentation.
• Investigate accidents, near‑misses, and safety violations, recommending corrective actions.
• Coordinate safety concerns with project personnel, subcontractors, and workers.
• Ensure emergency preparedness and response procedures are in place.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Valid DOLE‑accredited Safety Officer certification (SO2 or SO3 preferred).
• 2–3 years of experience as a Safety Officer in a construction environment.
• Strong knowledge of DOL​E OSH standards, construction safety practices, and risk assessment.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and report‑writing abilities.
