Construction Accounting Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Construction Accounting Manager to lead and develop a high‑performing accounting function within a fast‑growing construction management firm. This leadership position ensures financial accuracy, operational insight, and scalable processes across all construction projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the accounting team, guaranteeing 100% of critical month‑end deadlines are met.
• Oversee job costing, billing, and financial reporting for all active projects with at least 95% accuracy.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, processing invoices, payments, and collections within seven business days.
• Own the month‑end and year‑end close cycles, achieving 98% reconciliation accuracy and on‑time delivery.
• Ensure tax compliance, coordinating filings with external advisors.
• Produce accurate, timely financial reports to support strategic decisions.
• Lead monthly budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and strategic planning.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
• 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Strong background in construction industry accounting.
• Deep knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and accounting regulations.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Acumatica ERP system.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with Procore construction/project management software.
• Strong understanding of GAAP.
