Concrete Form Carpenter

About the role

The Concrete Form Carpenter works on highways and heavy construction projects, performing physical labor and specialized formwork tasks. The role involves operating tools, preparing sites, and assisting with concrete placement while maintaining a safe and clean job site.

Key responsibilities

• Operate a variety of hand and power tools for formwork and concrete tasks.
• Clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces, erect scaffolding, and remove debris.
• Construct, cut, assemble, and attach false work, forms, and form systems using wood, steel, aluminum, and other materials.
• Shovel wet concrete, assist in placing concrete, and move or strip various form work.
• Load, unload, and handle materials; secure the job site daily to eliminate hazards.
• Follow safety and incident‑reporting procedures.

Required profile

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and carry up to 75 lb repeatedly.
• Comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions and noisy environments.
• Knowledge of equipment, materials, and safety precautions used in heavy/highway construction.
• First‑aid awareness and ability to work independently according to schedule.

Required skills

• Operation of hand tools (hammer, level, saw, chalk line, ladder, nails).
• Operation of power tools.
• Concrete shoveling and placement assistance.
• Formwork installation and removal.
• Material handling and storage.
