Communications and Advocacy Specialist

About the role
The Communications and Advocacy Specialist will support the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in the Philippines to advance its 2030 Agenda objectives. Based in Isabela Province, the role contributes to FAO’s mission of building efficient, inclusive, resilient and sustainable agrifood systems through effective communication and advocacy. FAO has been working with the Government of the Philippines, civil society and the private sector for more than four decades to address challenges in agriculture, fisheries and forestry. The specialist will help inform policies, support partnerships and promote FAO’s technical expertise.
Key responsibilities
- Provide technical input on communications and advocacy activities aligned with FAO’s Strategic Framework.
- Report to the Assistant FAO Representative (Programme) and collaborate with the Project Team Coordinator, Programme Management Specialist and Community Resilience and Emergency Response Adviser.
- Participate in field missions within Isabela and Cagayan provinces to support programme implementation.
