Communications and Advocacy Officer

About the role

The Communications and Advocacy Officer will lead communication, behavior‑change and advocacy initiatives for the CAAT Phase 3 project in Eastern Visayas and BARMM. Reporting to the Head of Communications, Advocacy, and Campaigns, the role works closely with partners, local stakeholders and young people to create evidence‑based campaigns and amplify youth voices.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement the project’s Social and Behavior Change Communication (SBCC) strategy, supporting partners in monitoring activities.
• Develop communication products such as IEC materials, social media content, videos, advocacy materials and publications, ensuring safeguarding compliance.
• Create and execute advocacy and influencing plans, facilitating meaningful participation of children and young people in campaigns.
• Mentor youth leaders in storytelling and advocacy while ensuring brand, donor and safeguarding requirements are met.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Development Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, Social Sciences or related field.
• 3‑5 years of experience in communications, SBCC, advocacy, campaign development and multimedia content creation.
• Proven experience working on development, humanitarian, child protection, gender or youth‑focused programmes.
