Commis – Kitchen Assistant

About the role

The Commis supports the Chef and kitchen team in delivering high‑quality food service at a busy Sheraton hotel. This entry‑level position is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands‑on food preparation, maintaining a clean work environment, and providing excellent guest experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Chef during peak periods to ensure smooth service flow.
• Monitor and record appliance and food temperatures to meet safety standards.
• Prepare ingredients by portioning, chopping, storing, and washing fresh produce.
• Serve food in correct portions, arrange plating, and garnish dishes.
• Set up, clean, and break down work stations, including washing and disinfecting tools, knives, and equipment.
• Report any product that does not meet specifications and communicate needs to the manager.
• Follow all company safety, security, and hygiene policies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• No prior experience required; willingness to learn.
• Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods and lift objects up to 25 lb.
• Professional appearance and commitment to confidentiality.
