Commis 1 – Kitchen Assistant

About the role

The Commis 1 will support the kitchen team in preparing high‑quality food for guests at our Sheraton hotel in Cebu. This full‑time, non‑management position involves hands‑on food preparation, cooking, and maintaining a clean, safe work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients by portioning, chopping, washing, peeling, weighing, measuring and mixing.
• Cook food according to recipes, quality and presentation standards, including cold dishes.
• Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers safely and efficiently.
• Test and monitor food for proper cooking and quality throughout preparation.
• Set up and break down work stations, serve food in correct portions, and maintain sanitation of kitchen areas, tools and equipment.
• Check appliance and food temperatures, and report any safety or maintenance issues.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least one year of related food‑service experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 25 lb and perform repetitive motions for an entire shift.
