Coding and Clinical Manager (MD)

About the role

The Coding and Clinical Manager (MD) leads a team of clinical coders, ensuring accurate translation of medical records into standardized codes while maintaining high quality, compliance, and service standards. This role combines clinical expertise with operational leadership to support both internal stakeholders and external providers.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate, supervise, and hold accountability for daily, weekly, and monthly activities of coding team members.
• Set priorities to meet performance goals such as quality, adherence, service level, and average handling time.
• Collaborate with other supervisors, managers, and departments to align work activities.
• Identify and resolve operational problems using defined processes and professional judgment.
• Provide coaching, feedback, and formal corrective actions; conduct regular performance reviews.
• Offer expertise and customer‑service support to team members, customers, and providers.
• Work with the Clinical Review Manager on complex coding issues.
• Participate in coding meetings and education conferences to maintain coding accuracy.
• Demonstrate flexibility in working hours and meet deadlines consistently.

Required profile

• Medical Doctor (MD) degree.
• Strong analytical and research abilities with expertise in reading medical records.
• Proven experience in developing and improving coding processes.
• Excellent multitasking, prioritization, and communication skills.
• Positive attitude, high work ethic, and ability to work collaboratively.
• Attention to detail and self‑directed motivation.
