Cloud Operations Engineer

About the role

The Cloud Operations Engineer will manage, monitor, and optimise our cloud infrastructure to ensure high availability, performance, security and cost efficiency. You will work closely with development, security and operations teams to deliver reliable, scalable cloud services.

Key responsibilities

• Deploy, configure and manage cloud environments (AWS, Azure or GCP) for production and development, monitoring performance, availability and costs.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure‑as‑Code using Terraform or CloudFormation, automate provisioning, configuration and CI/CD pipelines.
• Implement cloud security best practices, identity and access management, data protection and conduct compliance audits.
• Manage monitoring, logging and alerting platforms (CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Datadog), provide production support and participate in on‑call rotations.
• Track and optimise cloud spend, recommend right‑sizing and cost‑saving strategies.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience in cloud operations, system administration or DevOps.
• Strong knowledge of AWS, Azure or GCP and practical experience with IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation) and CI/CD platforms (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, AWS CodePipeline).
• Solid Linux and/or Windows administration skills, networking fundamentals and scripting ability (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
• Experience with cloud security, monitoring, logging and cost optimisation; cloud certifications preferred.
