Clinical Practice Manager – Nursing Leadership

About the role
The Clinical Practice Manager will lead enterprise‑wide nursing practice standards, governance and workforce development for a multi‑program healthcare organization. This senior role combines clinical expertise, education leadership and regulatory oversight to ensure high‑quality, evidence‑based patient care.
Key responsibilities
- Establish and govern clinical practice standards, policies, procedures and evidence‑based guidelines across the organization.
- Lead professional nursing governance initiatives that promote accountability, ethical practice and patient‑centered care.
- Standardize clinical practices across service lines while aligning with organizational objectives and client requirements.
- Serve as the organization’s clinical authority on professional nursing practice.
- Design and oversee enterprise competency frameworks, assessments, validation processes and certification programs.
- Lead peer review, clinical calibration, competency validation and professional development initiatives.
- Develop standardized onboarding, continuing education and competency maintenance programs.
- Partner with Clinical Training & Quality to ensure workforce readiness and capability development.
- Lead readiness for NCQA, URAC, CMS, Joint Commission and other accreditation or regulatory requirements.
- Oversee clinical audits, policy reviews, documentation standards and compliance initiatives.
- Manage development, review and governance of clinical policies, guidelines, job aids, learning resources and knowledge repositories.
- Support creation of clinical simulations, competency assessments and standardized learning resources.
- Collaborate with Quality and Operations to improve workforce competency, clinical performance and quality outcomes.
Required profile
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – required.
- Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN/MAN) – required.
- Doctorate (PhD, DNP, DNS, EdD or equivalent) – highly preferred.
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – required; USRN license preferred but not required.
- Minimum 8–10 years of progressive nursing experience.
- At least 1–2 years of direct bedside clinical experience in acute or specialty care.
- Experience as Clinical Instructor, Nurse Educator, Nursing Faculty, Staff Development Specialist or Professional Practice Leader.
- Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in Clinical Education, Professional Practice, Quality, Accreditation, Clinical Governance or Nursing Leadership.
- Experience supporting U.S. healthcare payer or provider operations – highly preferred.
