Civil Technician

About the role

WSP is looking for a Civil Technician to support project set‑up and drawing production across a range of civil engineering projects. You will work closely with project leads and design teams to ensure that all drafting outputs are accurate, clear and delivered on schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Project Lead to define drawing strategy, types, sizes and numbering conventions.
• Agree on priorities and deadlines for drawing production and monitor progress.
• Create general arrangement drawings from engineers' sketches and design team inputs, developing coordinated details.
• Maintain the clarity, completeness and accuracy of all drawings and presentation materials.
• Follow established drafting standards, QA procedures, document control, archiving and CDM guidelines.
• Support the project team on assigned aspects and execute tasks delegated by senior technical leads.

Required profile

• Graduate of a technical discipline (Engineering or Architecture) or at least three years of relevant study.
• 3–7 years of civil drafting experience on projects of varying size.
• Experience working within a CAD team environment, preferably on Australian projects.

Required skills

• Proficiency with drafting software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation and ProjectWise.
• Knowledge of Civil 3D is an advantage.
