Civil Staff Engineer

About the role

Meralco is seeking a Civil Staff Engineer to join its Civil Standardization Team. The role focuses on creating and updating design standards for substations, transmission and distribution facilities, ensuring compliance with local codes and supporting the company’s infrastructure growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new standard building designs for substations, including architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, and sanitary plans, as well as structural calculations, bills of materials and bills of quantities.
• Create new standards for poles, structures, and line hardware used in sub‑transmission and distribution lines.
• Review existing standards for conformity with the National Structural Code of the Philippines and the Building Code of the Philippines.
• Prepare structural analysis and calculations for both new and existing standards as part of data build‑up.
• Generate and update bills of materials and bills of quantities for all civil facilities.
• Maintain and revise standard designs, drawings, and analysis reports for the 566 existing standards covering substations, sub‑transmission, and distribution civil facilities.

Required profile

• Licensed Civil Engineer.
• Preferably experienced in the utility sector; newly licensed engineers are also welcome.
• Strong problem‑solving ability and skill in gathering and processing technical information.
• Quick learner who can adapt to new technologies.
• Willingness to work onsite in Ortigas, Pasig City.
