Civil Estimator – Remote (Australian Morning Shift)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Civil Construction Estimator to join our client’s estimating and tendering team on a permanent work‑from‑home basis. The role focuses on concrete sleeper retaining walls and operates on an Australian morning shift, allowing you to enjoy free evenings.

Key responsibilities

• Review construction drawings, plans, specifications, scope of works and tender documents.
• Perform accurate quantity take‑offs, measurements and service mark‑ups within 24 hours to 1 week turnaround times.
• Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ), schedules of quantities and cost estimates.
• Estimate materials, labour, plant, subcontractor and other project costs, especially for concrete sleeper retaining walls.
• Identify inclusions, exclusions, risks and assumptions in tender requirements.
• Maintain estimating spreadsheets, databases and tender registers.
• Analyse historical project costs to improve estimating accuracy.
• Support variations, revised scopes and additional works pricing.
• Keep accurate records of estimates, quotes, drawings and tender documentation.
• Provide general estimating and administrative support to the project team.

Required profile

• 2–5+ years of experience in civil construction estimating, preferably within the Australian construction industry.
• Strong understanding of Australian civil construction practices and terminology.
• Proficient in reading and marking‑up plans, interpreting specifications and producing accurate quantities and cost estimates.
