Civil Engineer – Utilities Design

About the role

We are looking for a Civil Engineer to lead the utilities engineering design for road and rail projects. The role involves coordinating services, working closely with project leads, and delivering high‑quality design documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, design and coordinate the Combined Services Route (CSR) for road and rail projects.
• Transfer services information from providers and Dial‑Before‑You‑Dig drawings.
• Design pits and calculate minimum bend radius for conduits.
• Produce engineering drawings and quality design documentation under senior review.
• Adhere to Design Standards, Design Quality Procedures and relevant Australian and local standards.
• Support Digital Engineering, Net Zero and BIM project delivery.
• Assist the Transport Digital Engineering Pillars and manage multiple projects to meet deadlines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• 2–3 years of experience in geometric design of utilities.
• Knowledge of Australian Standards, local road authority standards and utility provider standards.
• Understanding of safety‑in‑design practices with a focus on road safety outcomes.
