Civil Design Engineer – Hydrology & Hydraulics

About the role

Arup is seeking a Civil Design Engineer specialized in hydrology and hydraulics to support master planning, technical due diligence, feasibility studies, and detailed engineering design for complex site development projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare hydrological and flooding reports, including detailed analysis and pre‑ and post‑development drainage calculations.
• Design culverts, channels, detention/retention systems, and outlet structures while ensuring compliance with environmental permits and regulatory requirements.
• Develop site grading, earthworks, road grading plans, and utility corridor layouts for roads, rail, water, energy and large‑scale site developments.
• Produce civil drawings, technical documentation, and conduct site visits to coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
• Support master planning, concept development, detailed design, and technical due diligence for infrastructure projects.

Required profile

• Licensed Civil Engineer or Environmental & Sanitary Engineer; postgraduate studies (MSc/PhD) are a plus.
• Minimum 5‑8 years of experience in civil engineering with a focus on hydrology, hydraulics and drainage systems.
• Proven ability to produce high‑quality H&H reports and clear technical presentations.

Required skills

• AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil3D, OpenRoads, ArcGIS.
• HEC‑RAS / HEC‑HMS, WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS, InfoWorks‑ICM.
• Knowledge of AASHTO, FHWA, DPWH (DGCS, Blue Book) and other international standards.
• Strong visualization, dashboarding and data presentation capabilities.
