Civil Construction Labourer

About the role

We are looking for a Civil Construction Labourer to join our team in Labrador and support the construction of sediment ponds, tailings infrastructure and large‑scale earthworks. The role involves hands‑on work in a heavy civil construction environment, with a strong focus on safety, quality and environmental compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with construction of sediment ponds, tailings facilities and associated earthworks.
• Perform grade checking, layout verification and support survey crews.
• Install culverts, HDPE piping, drainage and erosion‑control structures.
• Carry out geosynthetic liner installation, hand excavation, trench preparation, backfilling and compaction.
• Operate light equipment such as compactors, pumps and generators, and provide material handling, rigging and spotting support.
• Install signage, fencing, pumps and temporary works, and maintain clean work areas.
• Participate in environmental protection initiatives and ensure compliance with site‑specific requirements.
• Support inspections, quality‑control activities and project documentation.
• Identify hazards, report deficiencies and contribute to site safety programs.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in heavy civil construction and earthworks.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety, productivity, quality and environmental standards.
• Ability to work safely around heavy equipment and communicate effectively with operators and supervisors.
• Willingness to follow HSE policies, wear PPE and participate in incident investigations.
