Chinese Language Teacher (On-site)

About the role

The school is seeking a dedicated Chinese Language Teacher to plan and deliver engaging, age‑appropriate Mandarin lessons in an on‑site, face‑to‑face setting. The role involves fostering students' listening, speaking, reading and writing skills while promoting an appreciation of Chinese culture.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, student‑centered Mandarin Chinese lessons.
• Adapt teaching strategies and materials to suit different ages, abilities and learning levels.
• Assess and monitor students’ progress, providing constructive feedback.
• Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment and incorporate Chinese culture and traditions into lessons.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessment and student progress.

Required profile

• Native Mandarin Chinese speaker or equivalent fluency with excellent spoken and written skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Chinese Language, Education, Linguistics or a related field (preferred).
• Teaching qualification, certification or relevant teaching experience (advantageous).
• Previous experience teaching children or school‑aged students (preferred).
• Strong classroom management and communication abilities.

Required skills

• Fluency in Mandarin Chinese (spoken and written).
• Ability to prepare engaging, age‑appropriate lesson materials.
