Chemical Process Operator I

About the role

Moog is looking for a Chemical Process Operator I to ensure reliable chemical cleaning, treatment and coating of parts used in various applications. The role supports extending metal life and maintaining safety for end‑users while working in a collaborative, performance‑driven environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform aqueous cleaning according to EP 3628 and load/unload parts on fixtures or baskets.
• Label chemicals, conduct system tests using laboratory apparatus such as hydrometer, thermometer, pH meter and timer.
• Operate grit blaster for etching, masking and demasking of parts.
• Execute chemical processes under guidance, including Alodine, Passivation, De‑rusting, Desmutting, Temper Etch, Nital Etch, Pre‑penetrant Etch, Metalast Coating, Brush Zinc‑Nickel Plating and Iridite 80 Coating.
• Maintain accurate records of chemical usage and process parameters.

Required profile

• Graduate in Chemical Technology or a 2nd‑year (or higher) engineering student in a related field.
• Minimum of 1 year experience working with chemicals and standard operating procedures.

Required skills

• Operation of laboratory measurement instruments (hydrometer, thermometer, pH meter, timer).
• Use of grit blaster for etching and masking/demasking tasks.
• Perform aqueous cleaning and follow documented chemical process instructions.
