Case Management Specialist – Healthcare Advocate

About the role

The Case Management Specialist acts as a health advocate for crew members, ensuring they receive timely, high‑quality medical care both on‑board and ashore. Reporting to the Supervisor of Case Management, the role coordinates all aspects of medical logistics, documentation, and communication for hospitalized and non‑hospitalized crew.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary liaison between shipboard medical teams, crew members, next‑of‑kin, and shoreside medical providers.
• Coordinate medical appointments, retrieve and review medical reports, and maintain accurate case documentation.
• Organise logistics for medical transfers, including air ambulances, commercial flights, ground ambulances, and medical escorts.
• Work with People’s Team, Crew Care, and Travel Teams to arrange transportation, accommodation, and immigration compliance for medically disembarked crew.
• Manage high‑risk, long‑term, and high‑cost cases, driving them toward timely resolution and return‑to‑work.
• Provide 24/7 on‑call coverage on a rotational basis to ensure continuous medical support.

Required profile

• Located in the Philippines and able to work onsite.
• Strong communication and coordination skills with medical professionals and external vendors.
• Experience in case management, health advocacy, or medical logistics.
• Ability to handle complex, high‑risk cases and maintain detailed records.
