Carrier Transport Supervisor

About the role

Philcom is seeking a Carrier Transport Supervisor to lead the design, planning, and optimisation of its high‑capacity optical transport network. The role bridges engineering, operations and cross‑functional teams to ensure reliable, scalable services for enterprise customers.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, design and optimise DWDM, OTN, SDH and IP/MPLS transport systems.
• Perform wavelength/lambda planning, optical power budgeting and link calculations.
• Design ROADM architectures and amplifier placements (EDFA, Raman, Hybrid).
• Prepare and approve engineering drawings, network diagrams, BOQs and as‑built documentation.
• Validate provisioning templates, service profiles, cross‑connects and provide activation support.
• Monitor network performance metrics (OSN, BER, KPIs) and support capacity planning, optimisation and resiliency validation.
• Coordinate with Pre‑Sales, Build, SOC, Procurement and Operations teams.

Required profile

• Licensed Electronics Engineer (ECE) or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in optical transport engineering.
• Experience with MNO backbone and transport standards; DFON/Metro fiber background preferred.

Required skills

• DWDM, OTN, SDH, IP/MPLS transport technologies.
• Optical network design tools and vendor platforms.
• OSNR, CD/PMD analysis, lambda planning.
• ROADM design, amplifier technologies (EDFA, Raman, Hybrid).
• IP/MPLS/Ethernet transport expertise.
