Business Development Manager

About the role

Regulation Asia is seeking a proactive Business Development Manager to expand its subscription business across the Asia‑Pacific region. The role is hands‑on, focusing on outbound outreach, inbound lead follow‑up, and short product demonstrations delivered via Microsoft Teams.

Key responsibilities

• Make outbound calls and follow up with prospective clients throughout Asia‑Pacific and other key markets.
• Respond promptly and professionally to inbound leads and trial enquiries.
• Introduce Regulation Asia’s platform, clearly articulating its value proposition.
• Conduct concise online product demos (typically under 30 minutes) via Microsoft Teams.
• Identify client needs and align platform benefits accordingly.
• Answer initial questions on coverage, content, use cases, pricing, and access.
• Maintain accurate records of calls, meetings, demos, and next steps in the CRM.
• Collaborate with the wider team to convert trials and demos into paid subscriptions.
• Support targeted campaigns for banks, insurers, asset managers, fintechs, law firms, consultancies, and regulators.

Required profile

• Previous experience in sales, business development, lead generation, SDR, BDR, or account management.
• Confidence making outbound calls and engaging senior professionals.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex products simply.
• Comfort presenting online and delivering short product demos.
• Organised, responsive, and disciplined in follow‑up.
• Commercially focused, positive, and proactive attitude.
• Interest in financial services, regulation, compliance, risk, legal, policy, or technology.
