Business Development Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Business Development Manager to drive growth in the power generation, distribution and energy services markets. The role involves identifying new opportunities, building strategic relationships and supporting the delivery of projects and contracts.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate and pursue new business opportunities across power generation, distribution and energy services.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key customers, partners, government agencies and industry stakeholders.
• Prepare and review business proposals, feasibility studies and financial models for potential projects and partnerships.
• Conduct market research and analysis to monitor industry trends, regulatory changes and competitor activities.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, legal and finance teams to negotiate contracts, power purchase agreements (PPAs) and joint ventures.
• Support bidding processes for government and private sector energy projects.
• Maintain an accurate pipeline of leads, provide regular forecasts and reports to management.
• Promote the company’s brand at industry events, conferences and trade shows.
• Ensure compliance with regulations, environmental standards and corporate governance policies.
• Monitor and report on key performance indicators to meet or exceed targets.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Energy Management or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
• At least 35 hours of relevant training.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in business development, sales or commercial roles within the power or energy sector.
