Business Controller – Grain Import Operations

About the role

The Controller will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining robust internal controls, and supporting business decision‑making for the grain import operations. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across functions in a dynamic commodity trading environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare timely and accurate financial statements and oversee month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end closing processes.
• Implement and monitor internal control systems, support audits and ensure compliance with corporate governance standards.
• Provide financial insights and analysis to support commercial decisions and risk management, collaborating with trading and operations teams.
• Identify and drive process improvement initiatives, including automation and digitalisation within the finance function.

Required profile

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• At least 6 years of experience in financial reporting and internal controls, preferably in commodity trading or agribusiness.
• CPA or equivalent certification preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Office Suite.
