Attorney Editor – Practical Law (Legal Content)

About the role

The Attorney Editor role focuses on reviewing, maintaining, and updating Practical Law content to ensure it reflects current law and jurisprudence. This position is highly editorial, detail‑oriented, and involves working with a global team to keep legal resources accurate and up‑to‑date.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct legal analysis, edit and rewrite Practical Law content for accuracy, consistency, and compliance with style guides.
• Maintain Practical Law documents, verify case and statute citation links, and correct punctuation, grammar, formatting, and citation functionality.
• Adhere to editorial publishing schedules and quality standards, reviewing both own work and that of peers.
• Participate in team meetings, self‑evaluation, and feedback processes to support individual and leadership development.
• Prioritize tasks independently, using company‑specific systems and tools to manage editorial workflows.
• Engage with AI and large language model initiatives, experimenting with prompts and evaluating AI‑generated outputs to improve content quality.

Required profile

• Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
• Strong legal comprehension, analytical judgment, and meticulous attention to detail.
• Proven copy‑editing and proofreading abilities, especially with punctuation, grammar, formatting, and citations.
• Ability to stay current on legal developments and familiarize oneself with Thomson Reuters products and competitor offerings.
