Associate Corporate Legal Counsel

About the role

We are seeking an Associate Corporate Legal Counsel to join Athena’s legal team. The role focuses on providing expert advice on labor and employment matters across our operations in the Philippines, ensuring compliance with local regulations and supporting the company’s growth.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on employee discipline, termination, wage and hour issues, benefits and workplace policies.
• Manage labor-related cases, including internal disciplinary processes, arbitration before DOLE SENA and litigation before the NLRC.
• Ensure company policies comply with the Philippine Labor Code and DOLE regulations.
• Draft and review employment contracts, regularization notices, employee handbooks and separation agreements.
• Develop and deliver training for management and HR on labor relations and legal compliance.
• Conduct internal investigations into misconduct, harassment or other workplace issues.
• Mentor junior attorneys and paralegals.

Required profile

• Law degree and active Philippine Bar membership.
• In‑depth knowledge of the Philippine Labor Code, case law and NLRC jurisprudence.
• Proven experience handling labor disputes before DOLE and NLRC.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and negotiation abilities.
• High integrity, discretion and professionalism.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases simultaneously.
