Associate Accountant – US Tax & Bookkeeping

About the role

We are seeking an Associate Accountant to support our US clients with tax preparation, bookkeeping and related financial tasks. The role operates on a hybrid basis with night‑shift hours, providing hands‑on experience across multiple accounting platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare US income tax returns using Drake Tax software.
• Document workpapers and gather client source data for tax filings.
• Maintain daily bookkeeping for several clients using QuickBooks, Xero, Construction Partner, Spectrum and other DOS‑based systems.
• Produce monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and reconcile bank, credit‑card and general‑ledger accounts.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, and assist with payroll journal entries and tax filings.
• Support audit and review engagements by preparing schedules and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. accounting standards and internal processes.
• Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes and systems.

Required profile

• CPA or equivalent qualification with at least 1 year of US accounting and tax experience in a professional services firm.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset and ability to work independently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
