Assistant Vice President / Vice President Legal Officer (Banking)

About the role

Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) is seeking an experienced Legal Officer at the Assistant Vice President to Vice President level for its Manila office. You will join a highly regarded legal team and provide strategic legal counsel to support the bank’s operations and regulatory compliance in the Philippines.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert legal advice on banking, financial and Philippine regulatory matters.
• Draft, review and negotiate contracts, agreements and policy documents.
• Ensure all banking documentation meets strict compliance standards.
• Collaborate with business units to identify and mitigate legal risks.
• Support internal investigations and regulatory inquiries.
• Stay current on changes to Philippine law and financial regulations.

Required profile

• Qualified law degree with admission to the Philippine Bar.
• Significant experience in banking or financial services law.
• Proven ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
