Assistant Project Manager – Construction

About the role

The Assistant Project Manager (APM) supports the planning, execution, and financial control of commercial construction projects. Working under the supervision of a Project Manager, the APM ensures daily activities stay on schedule, within budget, and meet contract specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day project activities, including preparing invoices, estimates, and scheduling meetings.
• Track project progress and produce daily, weekly, and monthly status reports.
• Assist in developing cost estimates and solicit bids from subcontractors and material suppliers.
• Support invoice processing, subcontractor payments, and change order administration.
• Coordinate with the Superintendent and Project Manager on field activities, delays, and issue resolution.
• Maintain relationships with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Prepare job start‑up and close‑out checklists and perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, or Civil Engineering.
• 1–5 years of experience in commercial construction.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Self‑starter with high personal responsibility and integrity.
• Ability to work on rough terrain, in adverse weather, and travel long distances.
• Willingness to work more than 40 hours per week, including weekends.
