Assistant Professor – Leadership and Administration

About the role

The School of Information at San José State University seeks a full‑time, tenure‑track Assistant Professor to lead the Leadership and Administration cluster of its 100 % online Master’s program in Library and Information Science, beginning August 2025.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as core course coordinator for the Leadership and Administration cluster and teach INFO 204 – Information Professions.
• Develop, align, and assess course learning outcomes across all sections.
• Organize and deliver course content within the Canvas Learning Management System.
• Conduct scholarly research in areas such as advocacy metrics, decision‑making, or management of globally distributed information teams.
• Participate in departmental, college, and university committees and engage with professional organizations.

Required profile

• Earned doctorate by the start date.
• Demonstrated scholarly and professional achievements.
• Evidence of effective teaching and ability to engage a socially and economically diverse student body.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Canvas Learning Management System for online course delivery.
