Assistant Business Manager

About the role

The Assistant Business Manager (ABM) supports the branch’s overall operations, ensuring timely and accurate service delivery to all customer segments while aligning with the bank’s objectives, policies, and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Approve and endorse branch transactions within authority limits, including cash deposits, withdrawals, foreign exchange, and auxiliary services.
• Authorize account openings, high‑risk customer approvals, and amendments to customer records, ensuring complete KYC documentation.
• Monitor time‑deposit maturities, conduct enhanced due diligence, and oversee the preparation and submission of regulatory reports such as suspicious transaction reports.
• Maintain branch control and risk standards, conduct annual self‑assessments, and address identified risks promptly.
• Act as primary custodian for cash‑in‑vault and other accountable items, manage end‑of‑day balancing, and handle check processing within cut‑off times.
• Prepare client communications, including warning and collection letters, and manage mail and pouch dispatches.

Required profile

• Proven experience in bank branch operations or a similar financial services environment.
• Strong understanding of banking regulations, AML/KYC requirements, and internal control frameworks.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under strict deadlines.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with clients and internal stakeholders.
