Area Manager – Retail Operations

About the role

The Area Manager will lead the day‑to‑day operations of several SM Retail stores in the Trece Martires area. Reporting to senior leadership, you will drive sales performance, uphold visual‑merchandising standards and ensure an exceptional customer experience across the cluster.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee operational activities of multiple retail locations, monitoring sales, inventory and profitability.
• Ensure stores comply with company policies, visual‑merchandising guidelines and customer‑service standards.
• Analyze sales and inventory reports to identify trends and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate staffing levels, coach store managers and support performance‑management processes.
• Plan and execute promotional activities and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to optimise store performance.
• Conduct regular store visits, resolve operational issues and promote a culture of safety, accountability and customer focus.

Required profile

• Proven experience in retail operations and managing multiple stores or large‑format locations.
• Strong analytical ability in sales analysis, inventory management and performance reporting.
• Effective leadership, coaching and team‑building skills.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and conflict‑resolution capabilities.
• Organised, problem‑solving mindset with the ability to prioritise in a fast‑paced environment.
• Willingness to work on‑site in Trece Martires and travel to stores, including weekends and holidays as needed.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Retail or related field preferred; relevant experience may substitute.
• Experience in the Philippine retail market and familiarity with mall or chain‑store operations is a plus.
