Air Freight Operations Manager

About the role

Flexport is building its air gateway operations in Manila and needs a strong leader to shape the end‑to‑end air freight service. As the Air Freight Operations Manager you will oversee the full shipment lifecycle, ensure timely delivery, and drive operational excellence across the team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of air operations specialists, fostering a culture of performance and continuous improvement.
• Act as the primary escalation point for operational issues, ensuring rapid and effective resolution.
• Oversee the complete air shipment process from booking and pickup through airline handover and final delivery.
• Maintain compliance with Flexport standards, local regulations, and international shipping requirements.
• Ensure high data accuracy and timely milestone updates to meet KPIs and SLAs.
• Build and maintain strong partnerships with airlines, terminals, and trucking providers.
• Monitor vendor performance, provide feedback, and implement service‑quality improvements.
• Collaborate with internal teams—planning, sales, customs, and destination offices—for seamless coordination.
• Manage billing accuracy, cost control, and resolve invoice disputes promptly.
• Identify workflow inefficiencies and drive process improvements that reduce cost and enhance customer experience.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain operations.
• 2–3 years of leadership experience managing an operations team.
• Strong knowledge of air export and import regulations.
• Professional proficiency in English (written and spoken); Mandarin is a plus.
