Accounting Manager – Retail & Petroleum

About the role

The Accounting Manager will ensure the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of financial books across Unioil’s extensive network of retail service stations and gas stations. This role leads month‑end close, prepares financial statements, and oversees day‑to‑day AP, AR, and GL functions while maintaining strong internal controls.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing processes, meeting all deadlines.
• Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, pre‑payments and adjustments.
• Consolidate results from multiple sites and business units and produce management reports, variance analyses and supporting schedules for senior leadership.
• Ensure timely submission of statutory and regulatory financial reports.
• Review and analyze balance sheets, income statements and cash flow statements; provide commentary on key drivers.
• Supervise Accounts Payable – vendor invoice processing, payments, aging analysis and reconciliations.
• Supervise Accounts Receivable – billing, collections, customer reconciliations and DSO monitoring.
• Maintain the General Ledger – chart of accounts, account reconciliations, inter‑company transactions and month‑end schedules.
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls over financial reporting, ensuring proper segregation of duties and authorization matrices.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing month‑end close and financial reporting in a multi‑site environment.
• Strong knowledge of PFRS/IFRS and local regulatory reporting requirements.
• Experience overseeing AP, AR and GL functions, including vendor and customer reconciliations.
• Ability to conduct variance analysis and prepare insightful commentary for senior management.
