Sustainability & Environmental Specialist – Construction Projects

About the role

ACCIONA is seeking a senior Sustainability & Environmental Specialist to support the Bataan‑Cavite Interlink Bridge project in the Philippines. You will ensure that all environmental and sustainability requirements are identified, monitored, and implemented from the pre‑award stage through construction.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor environmental and sustainability performance on site.
• Ensure compliance with Philippine legislation, permits, and project specifications.
• Implement the Construction Environmental Management Plan.
• Conduct inspections, audits, and site assessments.
• Manage contractors’ and subcontractors’ environmental compliance.
• Handle non‑conformities, incidents, and corrective actions.
• Coordinate monitoring of water, air quality, noise, waste and hazardous materials.
• Prepare environmental reports, indicators and supporting documentation.
• Support training and awareness activities for the project team.
• Liaise with consultants, laboratories and regulatory authorities.

Required profile

• Degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in environmental management or sustainability, preferably on large infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of Philippine environmental regulations, permitting, audits, EIA and compliance monitoring.
• Experience managing contractors and subcontractors.
• Professional proficiency in English.
• LEED, GSAS or BREEAM certification is an advantage.
