Senior Unix Systems Administrator (Red Hat)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Unix Systems Administrator to manage and support our enterprise Linux and Unix environments. The role focuses on ensuring high availability, security, and performance of critical infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and other Unix servers (AIX, Solaris, HP‑UX).
• Manage user accounts, groups, sudo access, and authentication services.
• Perform OS patching, upgrades, hardening, and vulnerability remediation.
• Monitor system performance, capacity, and resource utilization.
• Troubleshoot server, OS, network, storage, and application issues.
• Administer filesystems, LVM, NFS, RAID, multipathing, and disk space.
• Configure services such as SSH, DNS, NTP, FTP/SFTP, HTTP, and SMTP.
• Support high‑availability, clustering, backup, and disaster‑recovery solutions.
• Automate routine tasks using Shell scripting, Ansible, or Python.
• Participate in change management, incident management, and on‑call rotation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3–7 years of hands‑on Unix/Linux system administration.
• Strong experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
• Knowledge of AIX, Solaris, or HP‑UX is a plus.
• Proficiency in Shell scripting and command‑line tools.
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SSH, firewalls, and networking concepts.
• Experience with ITIL processes, ticketing systems, and change‑control procedures.
