Project Manager – Solar Operations (Commercial & Residential)

About the role

The Project Manager will oversee the operational workflow of active solar projects after approval, ensuring smooth progression from kickoff to completion for both commercial and residential installations. You will coordinate procurement, permitting, contractor activities, manufacturer communications, and warranty claims to keep projects on schedule and deliver excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Manage active residential and commercial solar projects from kickoff through completion, tracking milestones and removing obstacles.
• Purchase equipment and materials, monitor lead times, and maintain vendor relationships to avoid downtime.
• Coordinate permit applications, inspections, and utility interactions, ensuring compliance with local requirements.
• Process warranty claims and Return Material Authorizations (RMAs) with inverter, battery, module, and equipment manufacturers.
• Oversee subcontractors and specialty contractors, verify scopes, and enforce project timelines.
• Partner with scheduling, sales, estimating, and residential/commercial managers to communicate updates, risks, and stakeholder information.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of project management experience in the solar industry.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong organizational, time‑management, and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience with procurement, purchasing, and permitting processes.
• Excellent communication skills and comfort working in a fast‑paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project‑management software.
