Operations Coordinator – SEA & Pacific

About the role

SMEC, a trusted partner in transport and energy infrastructure, is seeking an Operations Coordinator for its SEA & Pacific region. The role supports both opportunity pursuit and project implementation phases, ensuring smooth coordination across internal teams, subcontractors, and joint‑venture partners.

Key responsibilities

• Provide coordination support for Pacific opportunities, including opportunity setup, liaison with subcontractors and JV partners, proposal preparation, quality checks and submission.
• Monitor and identify new opportunities from IFI, client websites and other portals on a regular basis.
• Review project reports for compliance with SMEC Business Management System (BMS) and Quality Assurance procedures.
• Assist Project Directors, Managers and Coordinators to achieve target contribution margins, manage WIP, debtors and invoicing.
• Support logistics for new projects, including housing, travel, office equipment and staff accommodation.
• Coordinate meetings with clients, stakeholders, contractors and project teams, facilitating information transfer.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum three years of experience in Project Management, Procurement or Business Development.
• Experience in a multinational engineering environment is an advantage.
• High‑level communication skills and ability to write effective English reports and proposals.
• Strong organisational ability to track multiple projects and deadlines.
• Willingness to develop skills through further education.
