Fire Protection Project Manager

About the role

The Fire Protection Project Manager leads commercial and industrial fire protection projects from kickoff through final acceptance, ensuring delivery on schedule, within budget, and in full compliance with NFPA standards, local codes, and company procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Manage multiple fire protection projects simultaneously, overseeing all phases from initiation to handover.
• Review contracts, scopes, drawings, and specifications for alignment with project goals and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate designers, fitters, inspectors, vendors, and subcontractors to execute tasks efficiently.
• Create and maintain detailed schedules, budgets, and procurement plans.
• Submit and track shop drawings, permits, inspections, and approvals according to local codes and NFPA standards.
• Serve as primary contact for AHJs, general contractors, property owners, and engineers to resolve issues and provide updates.
• Track change orders, RFIs, billing, and all project documentation accurately.
• Monitor job costs, margins, and profitability, and close out projects with as‑built drawings and warranties.
• Identify and mitigate risks to prevent delays, conflicts, or budget overruns.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience managing fire sprinkler or fire protection projects.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA 13, 14, 20, and 25, as well as local AHJ requirements.
• Proven ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership capabilities.
• Experience handling budgeting, job costing, and margin tracking.
