Data Scientist – Credit Risk

About the role

You'll own credit scoring across the full customer lifecycle — from application decisions to behavioral models that drive portfolio profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Build and improve application and behavioral scorecards that drive underwriting and collections decisions across live credit products.
• Prepare model documentation and defend modeling decisions to internal governance and external reviewers in a regulated environment.
• Collaborate with product, analytics, and engineering teams to translate model outputs into strategy changes and implementation specifications.
• Own the full modeling cycle: data exploration, feature design, model building, validation, deployment specifications, and post‑production monitoring.
• Track scorecard quality metrics such as AUC, KS, bad rate, stability index and validate against real portfolio outcomes via NPV and back‑testing.
• Prepare governance artifacts for regulatory review and shape credit strategy, influencing approval, pricing, and collection decisions.

Required profile

• 3+ years of hands‑on experience building credit risk models, specifically application and behavioral scorecards.
• Experience with model audits, documentation, and supporting regulatory reviews.
• Strong Python (pandas, scikit‑learn) and SQL skills, building models end‑to‑end.
• Experience covering the full lifecycle from data and feature engineering to validation and production monitoring.
