Chief Steward – Food & Beverage

About the role

We are looking for a Chief Steward to lead the dishroom and sanitation operations at our Sheraton hotel in Cebu. The role ensures that all cleaning, stock rotation and equipment maintenance are performed to the highest standards, supporting the Food & Beverage team.

Key responsibilities

• Organise cleaning chemicals, supplies and the supply rack (pots, pans, utensils).
• Rotate stock, retrieve wares from storage and ensure clean wares are stored correctly.
• Complete cleaning checklists, clean and sanitise dishroom, loading dock, ceilings, walls and vents.
• Collect dirty pans from the cooking line and transport them to the pot‑scrubbing station.
• Operate and maintain dishwashing machines, hand‑wash stations, pot‑scrubbing stations and trash compactors.
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling and performance coaching of stewarding staff.
• Follow safety, security and company policies, report incidents and maintain a professional appearance.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a stewarding or dishroom environment.
• No prior supervisory experience required.

Required skills

• Operation of commercial dishwashing machines.
• Use of hand‑wash stations, pot‑scrubbing equipment and trash compactors.
• Basic inventory and stock rotation procedures.
